Featuring Hamilton's trademark blend of intricate plotting, riveting suspense, high-concept science, and vivid characters, A Night Without Stars brings the story to a fully satisfying finish/5(K).   Night Without Stars is Peter F Hamilton’s conclusion to his Chronicle of the Fallers duology, itself effectively a conclusion – at least for the moment – of his Commonwealth ing on from The Abyss Beyond Dreams (Mark C’s review, MarkY’s review), Night Without Stars has a lot to do in its page count to effectively tie up the story, and it makes this task even greater .

A Night Without Stars is the second (and final) entry in a duopoly that began with The Abyss Beyond Dreams. Although a sequel, A Night Without Stars can be read as a standalone novel, no simple trick given the number of characters and the complexity of the story overall. One of the things I really liked about this book is that it moves--by that I mean it is quick-paced.

When I was a kid, I absolutely loved James Howe's Bunnicula series. So when I found A Night Without Stars, a children's hospital story, by the same author, I was naturally pretty curious. It's clear from the cover that this is meant to be a Serious Book, in the manner of all those After School Specials and Degrassi episodes from the 80s/5(4).
